Amanda earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in 2004, where she developed her foundation as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Her early career focused on trauma and surgical critical care, providing her with extensive experience in high-acuity settings. In 2010, she narrowed her practice to specialize in wound medicine, working across the continuum of care in acute care, long-term care, hyperbaric medicine, and outpatient wound care settings. This diverse clinical background has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of wound management challenges and solutions.

As a passionate educator and patient advocate, Amanda has become a prominent national speaker, raising awareness about the specialty of wound medicine. She is dedicated to advancing the education of healthcare professionals, sharing her expertise on complex wound management to improve patient outcomes. Her contributions extend to research, where she co-authored the study Evaluating the Number of Cellular and/or Tissue-Based Product Applications Required to Treat Diabetic Foot Ulcers and Venous Leg Ulcers in Non-Hospital Outpatient Department Settings, which has informed cost-effective treatment protocols for chronic wounds, enhancing accessibility and efficacy in outpatient care.
