Published Article Coauthored by Advanta CEO and CDO: Organizational Silofication
Organizations often structure acquired expertise based on unique functionality such as scientific understanding, engineering, and information technology. Unfortunately, these groupings often lead to workplace silos - a mentality where lost information, inefficiencies, and breakdowns in communication occurs between teams.
In a recent publication in the journal Development and Learning in Organizations, the CEO and CDO of Advanta Genetics coauthored the publication "Organizational silofication: implications in grouping experts for organizational performance" to highlight implications organizations risk when leverage expertise without introducing management techniques that account for the bounded perspective by which the experts were qualified.
